What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a medication that is used for weight loss. It does this by targeting receptors that regulate appetite and level of fullness, as well as helping regulate blood glucose and insulin levels. Brand names of Semaglutide are Wygovy, Rybelsus, and  Ozempic. Originally used to help with Type 2 diabetes, Semaglutide was found to also be very effective for weight loss.

How does semaglutide work?

Semaglutide is easily injected subcutaneously once a week. Once patients start on Semaglutide, they are not as hungry, and feel full faster and longer. Food becomes less of a fixation, and patients naturally eat less. This allows patients to stay on healthy eating plans more consistently.

cmr’s semaglutide memberhip program

Brand names of Semaglutide are considerably pricy, and difficult to come by for weight loss. Pharmacies are oftentimes on backorder. Our Semaglutide Membership Program allows more patients the ability to utilize this medication. We make it simple.

  1. Consultation: Come in for a 30 minute consultation to discuss with one of our Nurse Practitioners if Semaglutide is right for you. This appointment includes blood tests pertaining to this medication (if you are already an established patient with recent lab results you may not need this step, call our office to confirm 630-999-8665)

  2. Enroll in the Semaglutide Membership Program, and pick up your first 4 weeks of supplies. At this appointment, you learn how to inject semaglutide from the privacy and convenience of your own home.

  3. Every 4 weeks pick up your next 4 weeks of supplies. At each pick up we will monitor your vital signs and weight as well.

  4. Every 12 weeks you will have a follow up appointment with one of our Nurse Practitioners, to monitor your journey (including retesting labs) and discuss any concerns.

Semaglutide Membership Program is $330 per month on an automated payment plan. This includes all medications, supplies, lab tests, and office visits.

If you would like, there is a Deluxe Package available that includes having all your injections done by one of our nurses at our office, as well as an Integrative Health Coaching session with every 4 week supply pickup.

This is an additional $220 per month.

Other things to note

How long patients remain on Semaglutide may be different for every patient. This depends on how much weight is needed to be lost, dose of medication tolerated, and individual patient’s eating and exercise plans. Some patients may choose to remain on a lower dose of Semaglutide for maintenance. We can also recommend supplements and action plans at the end of your membership that can help prevent any weight gain rebounding.

All patients taking Semaglutide must be on a good Multivitamin with minerals, as well as a Vitamin D supplement. Semaglutide is meant to be a part of a healthy weight loss plan, including a healthy eating and exercise plan.
